Mutaz Barshim successfully jumped 2.25 metres at an athletics competition, allowing him to continue in the event. Only four athletes, including Barshim, Japan's Tomohiro Shinnō, Poland's Mateusz Kołodziejczyk, and Mexico's Erik Portillo, advanced to the next height of 2.28 metres.
