On September 1, four new underground schools opened in Zaporizhzhia, capable of operating autonomously for up to 48 hours. These shelters provide protection against ionizing radiation, shock waves, debris, and high temperatures. The new schools can accommodate up to 500 people, while one in Maksymivka is designed for 170 people.
