On September 2, 2023, the third anniversary of border guard Yuriy Samkovskyi's death is observed. He was killed by an enemy FPV drone attack near Ivanivske while defending positions in the Bakhmut direction. Yuriy is survived by his wife and three children, including a younger son born after his death.
