Два фрегати Чорноморського флоту РФ, "Адмірал Макаров" та "Адмірал Ессен", зазнали серйозних пошкоджень внаслідок українського удару по військово-морській базі в Новоросійську 12 серпня. Обидва кораблі можуть не повернутися в експлуатацію щонайменше на рік, що суттєво зменшує можливості Росії для запуску ракет "Калібр" з Чорного моря.
