The water level in the Danube has dropped to a record low, leading to the growth of two-meter-high plants on the riverbed. Navigation in certain sections has become nearly impossible due to shallow waters. The water flow at the entrance to Romania is only 1250 cubic meters per second, the lowest recorded in hydrological observations.
