China's sixth-generation fighter J-36 has received a new laser weapon for protection against missile attacks. The laser system, developed by the AVIC research institute, was presented at a defense exhibition in Beijing. The aircraft may become an air defense platform capable of intercepting drones and cruise missiles without depleting munitions.
