A 55-year-old Russian soldier, Alexander Erzin, has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for taking civilian women hostage in Kupiansk in September 2025. The court found him guilty of terrorising the local population and making death threats. Erzin is currently in captivity, and the trial was held in person.
