On September 2, 2026, Mykolaiv was shelled by Russian drones, resulting in damage to 15 residential buildings. Approximately 90 windows were shattered, and roofs of six houses were affected. According to the mayor, Oleksandr Senkevych, there were no casualties, although one of the damaged houses belonged to the mother of a representative of the Institute of Mass Information.
