On 21 August 2026, Russian forces attacked a shopping centre in Kryvyi Rih, resulting in 14 deaths and 121 injuries, including 22 children. A search and rescue operation continued throughout the day, with reports of missing persons. As of 22 August, 63 injured individuals remained in hospital, all of whom had undergone surgery and were stabilised.
