Mykolaiv faces a shortage of technical salt for road treatment ahead of the winter season. The local company 'ELU Avtodorih' has only 600 tonnes of leftover salt from last year, which is insufficient for new needs. The company is attempting to finalize supply contracts but has not succeeded so far.
