Reform of the UN in response to contemporary challenges

In September 2026, UN Secretary-General António Guterres called for the reform of the United Nations to reflect contemporary realities. Later, UN spokesperson Stephen Dujarric supported this stance, stating that the organisation should represent the world of 2026, not that of 1945.
