In September 2026, the supervisory board of the National Atomic Energy Generating Company of Ukraine appointed Tkachuk, previously the head of Ukrgazvydobuvannya, as the new CEO. Simultaneously, Naftogaz signed an agreement with the Polish company ORLEN for LNG supplies worth $500 million, scheduled for 2027.
