The case began with the discovery of a record number of baleen whales near Greenland, attributed to global warming. Later, six cetacean bodies were found in Odesa Oblast, indicating potential ecological issues in the Black Sea. Significant ice loss in Greenland and the calving of an ice island have also been reported.
