Ukraine's Foreign Intelligence Service reported the recruitment of Indonesian citizens into the Russian army to fight against Ukraine, with at least eight Indonesians already involved in occupying forces. There are also reports of similar recruitment practices in Africa, where individuals were promised $3,000 and jobs as drivers.
