In August 2026, the Ukrainian Armed Forces' drone units struck 58,465 enemy targets, an increase of 8.7% compared to July. Commander Robert Brovdi reported that among the targets were 54 units of Russia's shadow fleet and 168 energy nodes. Overall, the drone units have increased target strikes by 210% since the beginning of the year.
The Ukrainian Air Force reported a threat of ballistic weapons being used from Crimea. Additionally, sorties of Tactical Aviation aircraft have been observed moving to launch positions for potential guided air missile launches, posing a threat to Odesa and Mykolaiv regions.
In the early hours of September 7, a Russian Su-24 bomber was successfully struck in occupied Crimea. The operation was carried out by operators of the Active Actions Department of the Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine, with the extent of damage currently being assessed.
Around 06:30, Russian forces attacked the village of Molodizhne with a drone. Three individuals were injured, including two women aged 56 and 60, who sustained blast injuries and shrapnel wounds. One of the women, a medical worker, was hospitalized, while the others received outpatient treatment.
