The rutting season for noble deer has begun in the Carpathians, lasting from mid-September to mid-October. During this time, males compete for females, and the animals require peace, prompting calls not to disturb them.
In September, Ukraine will launch an autumn campaign for the oral vaccination of wild carnivores against rabies. The vaccination will take place in several regions, including Zakarpattia, Ternopil, Mykolaiv, and Vinnytsia, using a ground method for distributing bait containing the vaccine.
At the 'Dyakove' customs post, Transcarpathian customs officers discovered 322 kg of substance disguised as construction plaster. A 35-year-old local attempted to smuggle the goods across the border, choosing the 'green corridor' and failing to declare the items. The estimated value of the seized goods is 1.5 million UAH.
In Zakarpattia, forest workers found an exhausted eagle and transferred it to the rehabilitation center of the 'Synevyr' national park. The bird is undergoing rehabilitation under the supervision of veterinarians who have developed a recovery plan.
