The education portal Education.ua released a ranking of schools in Ukraine based on the results of the National Multi-Subject Test (NMT) 2026. Cherkasy Scientific Physics and Mathematics Lyceum FIMLI was named the best school in Cherkasy, while the city ranked 10th among regional centers in Ukraine for average NMT results.
Cherkasy National University named after Bohdan Khmelnytsky has implemented online learning from September 7 to 11 due to the security situation. The university is awaiting clarifications from the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and the Cabinet of Ministers regarding further organization of classes.
