Two former judges from Crimea have been sentenced in absentia to 13 years in prison for treason in Ukraine. They were found guilty of switching allegiance to the occupying authorities following Russia's annexation of the peninsula. One of the judges also faced confiscation of property.
In Ukraine, Sergey Hulyuk, the occupational 'Deputy Minister of Resorts and Tourism' of Crimea, was sentenced to eight years in prison for collaboration. The court also ordered the confiscation of his property and a ban on holding public office for ten years.
Evgen Skisov, an occupational 'judge' from Alushta, has been charged with a war crime related to the illegal deportation of a Ukrainian citizen from Crimea in 2017. According to the investigation, he made a decision to forcibly deport a Ukrainian citizen, declaring him an 'alien'.
