Podvirne Lyceum in Chernivtsi Oblast has started the new school year with free meals for all students. This initiative is made possible by a government program providing children with hot lunches. Amid discussions about the quality of school meals in other cities, communities are showcasing an alternative approach to student nutrition.
On September 1, a reform of senior secondary education began in Chernivtsi. Lyceum No. 12 'Yubileynyi' is one of six pilot institutions where students can choose their study profiles under a new system.
In 2026, over 5,000 applicants became students of Chernivtsi National University. Among them, 3,842 were admitted to the bachelor's program and 1,200 to the master's program, with over 500 on a budget. The third admission wave will continue until mid-September.
