As of the morning of September 9, over 15,000 Hasidic pilgrims have registered in Uman for the Rosh Hashanah celebration. The city expects to host a total of 40,000 pilgrims. The festivities will begin on the evening of September 11.
The head of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, His Beatitude Metropolitan Epiphanius, visited Cherkasy, where he prayed for fallen defenders. The visit began at the Alley of Heroes, where he held a memorial service with the families of the deceased and clergy. The Metropolitan also addressed the families of the soldiers with words of support.
Hasidic pilgrims have started arriving in Uman ahead of the Rosh Hashanah celebrations. This year, around 40,000 worshippers are expected to visit the city. Due to this, a special entry and movement regime will be in place from September 4 to 17.
