Volunteers from the international organization Universal Aid Ukraine are evacuating civilians from dangerous areas in Donetsk despite threats from shelling and drones. In 2025, the team evacuated 1,200 people, operating in the regions of Kramatorsk, Sloviansk, Malotaranivka, and Druzhkivka.
From August 31 to September 6, 7,690 people were evacuated from Donetsk region, including 656 children. This is 2,399 fewer than the previous week, when 10,089 people were evacuated.
Soldier Vasyl Nakladiuk, a mechanic-driver of the medical point of the 1st mechanized battalion of the 32nd separate mechanized Steel Brigade, died on December 17, 2025, in Donetsk region. Mariupol defender Vladyslav Kashenets has received an apartment through the 'At Home' programme, implemented by the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation in partnership with the 'Heart of Azovstal' project. This year, the programme is approaching 400 apartments provided to defenders of Mariupol.
