Every year, around 50,000 Hasidic pilgrims visit Uman for Rosh Hashanah to pray at the grave of Rabbi Nachman of Breslov. This pilgrimage has continued since Ukraine's independence, despite the ongoing war. Rabbi Nachman requested to be buried in Uman, making it an important spiritual center for Hasidim.
