From September 3 to 7, 2026, Russian forces carried out numerous shellings in the Sumy region, resulting in civilian casualties. Initially, on September 3, two women were injured, followed by four more people on September 4-5. However, on September 6, shellings were reported without civilian casualties, although damage to civilian infrastructure occurred.
