Extradition of Ukrainian in Nord Stream sabotage case
In August 2026, Ukrainian citizen Volodymyr Zhuravlyov was arrested in Croatia on suspicion of involvement in the sabotage of the Nord Stream pipelines. A Croatian court has decided to extradite him to Germany, despite calls from Ukrainian lawyers for intervention in the case. The situation is complicated by contradictions, including Denmark's refusal to assist Germany and the Ukrainian Prosecutor General's Office stating it cannot request the extradition of the suspect.
