In August 2026, preparations began in the 'DPR' for pseudo-elections to the State Duma of the Russian Federation, scheduled for September 18-20. The occupying authorities announced early voting, while Russia launched a disinformation campaign to legitimise the elections. The elections are accompanied by changes in their conduct and the preparation of observers, but the international community, including Estonia, emphasises that these elections are not legitimate.
