Hungary faced a setback in the European Union court, which dismissed its lawsuit against the use of income from frozen assets of the Russian Central Bank to finance Ukraine's defence. The court explained its decision by stating a lack of jurisdiction in this matter.

The General Court of the European Union rejected Hungary's lawsuit challenging the decision to use income from frozen Russian Central Bank assets to finance military aid to Ukraine. The court stated it lacked jurisdiction in this matter. The lawsuit was filed in July 2024 against the EU Council and the European Peace Facility.
