On August 23, 2026, a hostile strike on the outskirts of Kharkiv killed at least three people, including midwife Svitlana Holovko and ambulance driver Vadym Ryzhikov. Rescue operations are ongoing as emergency services continue to survey the area. The body of deceased Alexander Kolesnichenko has also been identified.
