Transporting Russian prisoners of war using drones
In September 2026, Ukrainian forces used drones for the first time to transport Russian prisoners of war. Two servicemen from the 253rd 'Arei' regiment were captured near Orikhiv, and their transfer to the rear was carried out by fighters from the 'Asgard' territorial recruitment centre of the 153rd separate mechanised brigade. The process took approximately six hours.
