The operation to liberate the forest area in Kupiansk began on August 25, 2026, when the 23rd separate assault regiment of the R.U.H. Corps 'Khartiya' took control of 7.5 square kilometres of territory. In the following days, the military continued their advance, liberating an additional 2 and 4 square kilometres of forest, indicating active combat operations in the region. As of September 3, 2026, the defence forces continue to document the results of their operations.
From the beginning to today
The 23rd Separate Assault Regiment of the R.U.H Corps 'Charter' liberated a forest area in the Kupiansk region, taking control of 7.5 square kilometres of territory. The operation took place near Dvorichna, where the northern part of the village of Zapadne was also cleared.
Soldiers from the 23rd Separate Assault Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine, known as 'Charter', have cleared 2 square kilometres of forest from Russian troops west of Dvorichna in the Kupiansk district. The military continues to advance deeper into the forest, documenting their progress with drones.
On September 3, soldiers of the 23rd Assault Regiment of the National Guard of Ukraine 'Khartiya' liberated 4 km² of territory between Dvorichna and Zapadne in Kharkiv Oblast. The operation was conducted in cooperation with the 35th Separate Marine Brigade.
