From August 31, 2026, phantom patrols equipped with automatic speed violation detection systems began operating in Kyiv and the Kyiv region. On their first day, they recorded 1,799 violations, and over the week, more than 7,000. The Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine emphasised the importance of this step in reducing road traffic accidents.
From the beginning to today
Starting from August 31, three "phantom patrols" will operate in Kyiv and the Kyiv region. Equipped with automatic speed violation detection systems, they plan to expand their operations to other regions in the future.
