On September 1, 2026, Stepan Kaplunov, the deputy commander of the Russian Volunteer Corps, was abducted. The Russian Volunteer Corps has reached out to the Main Intelligence Directorate, the Security Service of Ukraine, and the State Bureau of Investigation, but there is still no information on his whereabouts. On September 2, the commander of the RDK reported that no suspicious items were found in Kaplunov's apartment.

A few days ago, Stepan Kaplunov, the deputy commander of the RDK, was abducted in the yard of his home. The Russian Volunteer Corps has contacted the GUR, SBU, and DBR, but there is no information about his whereabouts. RDK Chief of Staff Oleksandr Fortuna reported the situation, but the corps urged waiting for an official statement.
