In August 2026, authorities uncovered a fraudulent call centre in Kharkiv that defrauded Latvian citizens of 55 million hryvnias. Nine individuals are involved in the case, with four receiving charges, including the organiser of the call centre, who was charged the day after the operation was exposed.

Law enforcement in Kharkiv has uncovered a fraudulent call centre that deceived citizens of Latvia out of more than 55 million UAH. Nine individuals are involved in the case, with four receiving suspicion notices. The operation was conducted jointly by the Security Service of Ukraine and Latvian law enforcement.
