Research on the link between sleep and organ aging
Researchers found that both chronic sleep deprivation and excessive sleep duration can accelerate the biological aging of internal organs. The optimal sleep duration for slowing aging is between 6.4 and 7.8 hours per day. The study also revealed a connection between sleep habits and the risk of developing Alzheimer's disease, challenging the traditional notion of needing 8 hours of sleep.
